What we collect when you browse the site

The site does not use profiling cookies or advertising tools. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, logs technical data such as your IP address and browser type to protect the site and keep it running. This data is not used to identify you.

YouTube videos

Videos are loaded only when you press the play button. From that moment on, YouTube (Google) may collect data under its own privacy policy. Until you press play, no YouTube content is loaded. Our videos are in Italian.

Contact form

If you write to us from the Contact page, we collect your first name, last name, email, city, and message. We use them to reply to you, to count which surnames are requested most and from which areas, and to let you know if we publish the surname you asked for. Requests are stored in a Google spreadsheet (Google Workspace), and we delete them whenever you ask us to. To block automated spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser without using profiling cookies.

Newsletter

We sign you up for the newsletter only if you check the box for it, on the Italian contact form or at checkout on Payhip. The newsletter is in Italian only. You’ll receive new articles from our blog. The subscriber list is managed by EmailOctopus, which stores your email, first name, last name, and sign-up date. To understand which articles people are interested in, EmailOctopus records whether you open the emails and which links you click. At the bottom of every email there’s a link to unsubscribe with one click.

Purchases

Purchases take place on Payhip. You enter your name, email, and payment details on Payhip’s page, and they are processed by Payhip and the payment networks (Stripe) under their own privacy policies. From Payhip we receive the data we need to handle your order: name, email, products purchased, and country.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete your data by writing to [email protected]. You can also contact the data protection authority in your country.
